• Aegir is the name of a Scandinavian sea god.
• Aegir is the name of a sea giant, god of the ocean and king of the sea creatures in Norse mythology.
• The Aegir bears a resemblance to the Vic Viper in Gradius.
• Aegir is the ship seen in the Galaxy on Fire 2's app icon. The place where the image was taken is Dis, Magnetar. The one on the app icon for GoF2 only has 2 thrusts, while the in-game one has 3 thrusts.
• The ship on GoF3’s app icon is not the Aegir; it is the Atauno Rheep.
• The Kinzer's original design in the Java game was used as the basis for the Aegir in the iOS version of GoF2.
• This Starship has a similar design to the Specter and the Ghost.
• This is one of the two Nivelian ships that have four secondary weapons.
• This is oddly not the agilest of the ultimate ships, being less agile than the VoidX and the Mantis.
