Erkkt Uggut's Hour of Glory

This article contains plot details about Galaxy on Fire.

This is the 14th and final part of the Galaxy on Fire 2 base game. Brent Snocom will tell you the plan to blow up the Void Mothership. A group of Terrans led by Lieutenant Jean Baffour and you will be responsible for escorting Erkkt Uggut's K'Sarr Freighter.

Once he's made it through the Wormhole, follow him. However, upon arriving you will discover that none of the other Terrans made through, leaving you and any wingmen you hired the only defense. Fight off the Voids as they approach. A cut-scene eventually triggers where Uggut's freighter is flanked and crippled, though he manages to approach the mothership.

Unable to free himself or eject, Uggut demands his ship to be destroyed. After you do that, simply leave through a conveniently-generated wormhole or Khador drive. The freighter then explodes, obliterating him, itself and the mothership.

Once you get out, you will call Carla. Then the game takes you to Thynome for a date with her. After the date you'll get a note from Carla.

Tips and Tricks[]

  • You should try to protect Uggut as much as possible before he enters the wormhole. After he does, you can follow suit.
    • If you enter before him, you will fail the mission instantly.
  • You do not need to use a Khador drive since a wormhole will be generated nearby when Uggut's ship is destroyed, unless there are too many Voids around you in which case you need to leave as soon as possible.
  • Use powerful weapons (from Kaamo if you have sufficient credits) to quickly get rid of the Voids while in Void Space.
  • If you are playing on extreme and without a Khador Drive, it is highly recommended you have a cloaking device and sufficient energy cells (at least 30). Use it if you're getting overwhelmed.
  • Recommended gear: Beamshield II or Fluxed Matter Shield, a repair bot, a T'yol, D'iol, or E6 D-X Plating, and a booster like the Polytron Boost (with Valkyrie DLC) Me'al or Synchrotron Boost. If you are in extreme, the Voids will do a lot of damage, so a cloaking device like the Sight Suppressor II is rather practical.
    • If you do plan on using Cloaking Devices and a Khador Drive be sure to pack enough energy cells. Beware that the Voids will attack Uggut if you're in stealth, so either get a healing beam[1] or wingmen and make sure the ship lives long enough.
    • Do not use nukes unless they are far from Uggut or he might take damage.
  • This is the most difficult mission so don't hesitate retrying if you fail, as it may take several attempts.
  • For some odd reason, most of the Voids may end up on the wrong side of the Void Mothership and are forced to make their way to you. If this happens, this mission is extremely easy, as you will not need to even protect Uggut until the scripted sequence triggers.
  • When the freighter is destroyed, the screen will shake constantly until you leave Void space, but the explosion will never happen until then. Take your time getting to a wormhole as there is no time limit.
  • You can use EMPs to paralyze nearby Voids as you escape by detonating them as soon as they are launched.

Trivia[]

  • During the cutscene, repair beams will cease to repair Erkkt. When Erkkt's ship is stuck on the mothership, the repair beam will resume targeting him to no avail.
  • If wingmen destroy the freighter, Maxwell will not say "Sorry Erkkt, don't take it personally." 
  • The freighter will slingshot forwards once it enters the wormhole, similar to how Khador drive warps a ship.
  • This mission is, so far, the only occurrence where NPC ships can enter wormholes on their own.
  • After the mission, when you are teleported to Thynome, you will pay the usual bribe if your reputations with Terrans is poor, yet you will be charged once more when the cut-scene ends. This also explains why wingmen that were with you when you defeated the voids may only leave your service after the cutscene (because the enter/exit station count is increased by one more, and the prompt does not actually show up until then).


  1. The Nirai SSP-M50 can be purchased in the Kaamo Club's space lounge from Jack Zoboon, even without the Supernova DLC, and with its support you might keep the freighter safe when it counds.
